BACKGROUND Neonicotinoids, among the most important pesticides in recent decades, have played pivotal roles in controlling agricultural pests. However, the toxicity to some environmentally beneficial insects is a cause of concern. The development of novel insecticides safer to these insects is increasingly urgent. RESULTS A novel series of hydrocarbylidene nitrohydrazinecarboximidamides were designed and synthesised, starting from S-methylisothiourea sulphate. Preliminary bioassays showed…

Design, synthesis, and insecticidal activity of novel 1-alkoxy-2-nitroguanidines
The results indicated that the flexible chain on the nitrogen atom was the most crucial factor on honey bee toxicity, which existed in both neonicotinoids and guadipyr series.
Synthesis and insecticidal activity of the fluorinated galegine analogues
The analysis of structure-activity relationship indicates that the compounds with difluoro- substituted benzene ring have more potent insecticidal activities than the single fluoro-substituting compounds.
Synthesis of novel pyrimidine derivatives with (pyridin-3-ylmethyl)thio and phenylamino moieties and evaluation of their antifungal activity
ABSTRACT A series of novel pyrimidine derivatives with (pyridin-3-ylmethyl)thio and phenylamino moieties were synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate, thiourea, 3-pyridinylmethyl chloride hydrochloride,
Design and synthesis of novel hydrocarbylidene nitrohydrazinecarboximidamides against aphids based on natural product galegine
Structural–activity relationship and 3D-QSAR analyses indicate that the introduction of fluorine atom is useful for increasing the insecticidal activity of target compounds.
An Approach to Identify New Insecticides Against Myzus Persicae. In silico Study Based on Linear and Non‐linear Regression Techniques
Four new potential insecticides active against Myzus persicae and their predicted pLC50 toxicity values were reported for the first time and can be used in the screening and prioritization of chemicals in a scientific and regulatory frame and for toxicity prediction.

Syntheses and Insecticidal Activities of Nitro Arylideneamino Guanidine Derivatives
Research of compounds 4-2,4-8 and 4-34 against Myzuspersicae,Aphis gossypii and Hyalopterusamygdali blanchard indicated these compounds possessed high activity at low concentrations, especially, the activity of compound 4-8 was better than that of imidacloprid againstHyalopteraamygdale blanchards, which confirmed that this compound is worth research.
N'-Nitro-2-hydrocarbylidenehydrazinecarboximidamides: design, synthesis, crystal structure, insecticidal activity, and structure-activity relationships.
A novel series of acyclic imine-substituted nitenpyram analogues were designed and synthesized from nitroaminoguanidine, and their structures were confirmed using X-ray diffraction crystallography.
Short- and long-term effects of neonicotinoid application in rice fields, on the mortality and colony collapse of honeybees (Apis mellifera)
Results indicated that clothianidin spraying of the rice field increased the mortality of the honeybees, but did not always cause colony collapse.
Residues and dissipation of guadipyr in rice ecological system
A modified QuEChERs method with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry for analysis of guadipyr residue and dissipation in rice matrices, paddy soil and paddy water was developed and
