A new species of montane butterfly, Forsterinaria hannieri n. sp. (Nympha- lidae, Satyrinae) is described from the Guyana Shield in Venezuela. It is most similar to F. inornata (c. Felder & r. Felder, 1867) known from western slopes of the Andes in Colombia and Ecuador, but it shows unequivocal differences, especially in the male genital morphology.
