Amytal (ethylisoamylbarbituric acid; 5·10-3 m), 2,4-Dinitrophenol (1.25·10-4 m), and Phenazinemethosulfate (10-6 m) completely inhibits the synthesis of bacteriochlorophyll in anaerobic cultures in the dark.
