Parkinson's disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and multiple system atrophy (MSA) are increasingly recognized as alpha-synucleinopathies, i.e. neurodegenerative disorders that share a common subcellular pathology characterized by alpha-synuclein abnormal aggregation.
