The alpha-globin poly(C)-binding proteins (alphaCPs) comprise an abundant and widely expressed set of K-homolog domain RNA-binding proteins. alphaCPs regulate the expression of a number of cellular and viral mRNAs at the levels of splicing, stability, and translation.
