In this work, we consider the motion of a polaron in a polynucleotide Holstein molecular chain in a constant electric field. It is shown that the character of the polaron motion in the chain depends not only on the chosen parameters of the chain, but also on the initial distribution of the charge along the chain. It is shown that for a small set value of the electric field intensity and for fixed values of the chain parameters, changing only the initial distribution of the charge in the chain…

Electron motion in a Holstein molecular chain in an electric field

Abstract.A charge motion in an electric field in a Holstein molecular chain is modeled in the absence of dissipation. It is shown that in a weak electric field a Holstein polaron moves uniformly

Simulation of the Stationary and Nonstationary Charge Transfer Conditions in a Uniform Holstein Chain Placed in Constant Electric Field

The charge transfer in a Holstein molecular chain placed in a uniform electric field has been numerically simulated. It has been shown that for given parameters of the chain, a charge placed in a

Polaron in Electric Field and Vibrational Spectrum of Polyacetylene

In the present paper, the evolution of a polaron in polyacetylene in electric field is studied in detail. It is shown that the dependence of the polaron velocity on the applied field is

Bloch oscillations of a soliton in a molecular chain

Abstract. This paper presents the results of numerical experiments simulating Bloch oscillations of solitons in a deformable molecular chain subject to a constant electric field. By using as an

Directed current in the Holstein system.

It is shown that localized initial conditions associated with a polaron solution, in conjunction with static electron on-site potential not having inversion symmetry, constitute minimal prerequisites for the emergence of a directed current in the underlying periodic lattice system.

Transient dynamics of a one‐dimensional Holstein polaron under the influence of an external electric field

Following the Dirac‐Frenkel time‐dependent variational principle, transient dynamics of a one‐dimensional Holstein polaron with diagonal and off‐diagonal exciton‐phonon coupling in an external

It is shown that, for reasonable values of the parameters, an injected electron or hole can form a polaron on a DNA stack, and it is suggested that this ultrafast transport is due to polaron drift, which has been shown to lead to similar mobilities in chains of conjugated polymers.
