Dengue fever is a re-emergent disease affecting people in more than 100 countries. Its incidence has increased fourfold since 1970 and nearly half the world’s population is now at risk. In the present paper, a mathematical model is proposed to simulate the succession of two epidemics with variable human populations. Stability analysis of the equilibrium points is carried out and a simulation is given for different parameter settings. 2005 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
