Abstract A new species of Dendrorchis is described and compared with others in the genus. The parasites were found in the swim bladder of the annual killifish Cynopoecilus melanotaenia. Hosts were collected from a seasonal wetland in southern Brazil. The main characteristics of D. pampae are: genital pore in the intestinal bifurcation region elongate and lobed vitellaria uterine loops limited to the acetabular region and to the rear end of the body; and wide intestinal caeca. An emended…
First report of Dendrorchis retrobiloba Volonterio & Ponce de León, 2005 (Digenea, Gorgoderidae) in Astyanax aff. fasciatus (Cuvier, 1819) (Characiformes, Characidae) from southern Brazil
TLDR
This study necropsied specimens of A. fasciatus from Lake Guaíba, in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil for the analysis of their helminths and identified the digeneans as D. retrobiloba, the first report of D. Retrobiloba in A. aff.

To date, the monospecific Dendrorchis is represented by D. neivai, reported from Brazil and parasitizing Brycon lundi. Dendrorchis retrobiloba n. sp. is described from the swim bladder of Astyanax
Dendrorchis ritata n.sp. (Trematoda: Gorgoderidae) from catfish Rita Rita (Siluriformes: Bagridae) of Jamshoro district, Sindh, Pakistan
TLDR
A new species Dendrorchis ritata is proposed to accommodate the recent trematode of genus DendRORchis Travassos, 1926, which is described from intestine of the host fish.
Reproduction of the annual fish Cynopoecilus melanotaenia (Regan, 1912) in a temporary water body in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (Cyprinodontiformes, Rivulidae)
TLDR
The frequency distribution of oocyte diameters indicates a continuous spawning life history style over a long period of time in Cynopoecilus melanotaenia.

Seasonal pattern in parasite infracommunities of Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus and Hoplias malabaricus (Actinopterygii: Erythrinidae) from the Brazilian Amazon
TLDR
Seasonal variation in this infection levels was due to the host’s feeding behavior and habits and the availability of infectious forms of parasites with heteroxenic life cycles.
LEVANTAMENTO PARASITOLÓGICO EM Hoplias Malabaricus, Bloch, (1794) (TRAIRA) DE ÁGUAS DA REGIÃO DE SANTA MARIA - RS
TLDR
The objectives of the survey were to determine the preferably location of the parasite in the host, relate the season with the higher prevalence and identify them at the level of genus and when possible indicate the species.
The opportunistic feeding and reproduction strategies of the annual fish Cynopoecilus melanotaenia (Cyprinodontiformes: Rivulidae) inhabiting ephemeral habitats on southern Brazil
TLDR
The results confirmed the opportunistic character of the rivulid C. melanotaenia and provided unreported reproductive information that may aid conservation of the species.
Helminth Parasites of Xenotaenia resolanae (Osteichthyes: Cyprinodontiformes: Goodeidae) From the Cuzalapa Hydrological System, Jalisco, Mexico
TLDR
High water flow of the collecting site is suggested as the main factor determining the depauperate helminth assemblage in this fish species.
Helminth Parasites of Freshwater Fishes of the Ayuquila River, Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve, West Central Mexico
TLDR
The fish helminth fauna of the Ayuquila River is dominated by trematode and nematode species with only a few monogenean and acanthocephalan species.
