Dendritic cell (DC) apoptosis is an important event that regulates the balance between tolerance and immunity through multiple pathways, and defects in DC apoptosis can trigger autoimmunity. DC apoptosis is also associated with immunosuppression and has been observed under several pathologies and infections.
