We successfully demonstrated real-time 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) encoded 11.52 Gb/s optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transceiver and experimentally investigated its optical transmission performances for OFDMA-PON systems. Considering practical deployment of OFDMA-PON, we decided to design and implement the 128 fast Fourier transform (FFT) in our OFDM baseband transceiver.
