Abstract Northern Goshawks (Accipiter gentilis) typically hunt in forested habitats and feed upon birds and mammals there. Relatively little is known of goshawk food habits in coastal landscapes, and few seabirds have been documented in their diets. Although guillemots (Cepphus spp.) are potentially available to Northern Goshawks in most coastal landscapes within its range, they have not been documented previously in this raptor's diet. I observed the delivery of a Pigeon Guillemot (C. columba…
Unintended consequences: how the recovery of sea eagle Haliaeetus spp. populations in the northern hemisphere is affecting seabirds
TLDR
Adult seabirds experience predation by many species, and many are taken on land by avian predators, including Giant Petrels Macronectes spp.

Great Horned Owls living on Protection Island, Jefferson Co., Washington, are noteworthy in that their regurgitated pellets contain bird remains exclusively, and here the authors characterize these unusual pellets and their contents.

Goshawk Hunting Behaviour, and Range Size as a Function of Food and Habitat Availability

FOREST STRUCTURE AND PREY ABUNDANCE IN FORAGING AREAS OF NORTHERN GOSHAWKS
TLDR
Results are consistent with the hypothesis that goshawk morphology and behavior are adapted for hunting in moderately dense, mature forests, and that prey availability (as determined by the occurrence of favorable vegetation structure where prey are present above a low threshold) is more important than prey density in habitat selection.
