Two expressed sequence tags with similarity to dehydrin were cloned to full-length (CsDHN1 and CsDHN2) through rapid amplification of cDNA ends. CsDHN1 and CsDHN2 were 1,027 and 992 base pair long and encoded for predicted polypeptides of 260 and 201 amino acids, respectively. Deduced CsDHN1 protein had a S-segment and three lysine-rich consensus motifs (K-segments). The Y-segment was, however, absent in the deduced CsDHN1.
