Brushed polymers composed of a backbone of poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA) onto which poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)s (pDMAEMAs) was grafted via a hydrolyzable linker were synthesized and evaluated as nonviral gene delivery vectors.
