The Department of Defense (DOD) is changing the security structure of the Defense Data Network. Existing classified backbones are merging to form a single segment. DISNET, that uses a new host - to - host encryption system. When completed, DISNET will carry classified data of all security levels, while MILNET continues to carry unclassified traffic.
