Bayesian Deep Learning for Partial Differential Equation Parameter Discovery with Sparse and Noisy Data
- Computer ScienceArXiv
- 2021
This paper proposes to use Bayesian neural networks (BNN) in order to recover the full system states from measurement data, and uses Hamiltonian Monte-Carlo to sample the posterior distribution of a deep and dense BNN, showing that it is possible to accurately capture physics of varying complexity, without overfitting.

Discovering PDEs from Multiple Experiments
- Computer ScienceArXiv
- 2021
A randomised adaptive group Lasso sparsity estimator is introduced to promote grouped sparsity and implement it in a deep learning based PDE discovery framework to create a learning bias that implies the a priori assumption that all experiments can be explained by the same underlying PDE terms with potentially different coefficients.

Stability selection enables robust learning of partial differential equations from limited noisy data
- Computer ScienceArXiv
- 2019
This work proposes a stability-based model selection scheme to determine the level of regularization required for reproducible recovery of the underlying PDE, and shows that in particular the combination of stability selection with the iterative hard-thresholding algorithm from compressed sensing provides a fast, parameter-free, and robust computational framework for PDE inference that outperforms previous algorithmic approaches with respect to recovery accuracy, amount of data required and robustness to noise.
