Deep-sea cumaceans from the Pacifi c coast of Northern Honshu, Japan, 249̶5367 m deep, were collected by the R/V Soyo-maru, R/V Wakataka-maru and R/V Tansei-maru in 1992, and 2005̶2007. Twentyseven species from families Bodotridae, Leuconidae, Nannastacidae, and Diastylidae were identifi ed, among which Platycuma japonicum was new to science.
