We consider the Regge limit of a CFT correlation function of two vector and two scalar operators, as appropriate to study small-x deep inelastic scattering in $ \mathcal{N} = 4 $ SYM or in QCD assuming approximate conformal symmetry. After clarifying the nature of the Regge limit for a CFT correlator, we use its conformal partial wave expansion to obtain an impact parameter representation encoding the exchange of a spin j Reggeon for any value of the coupling constant. The CFT impact parameter…

The perturbative CFT optical theorem and high-energy string scattering in AdS at one loop

Abstract We derive an optical theorem for perturbative CFTs which computes the double discontinuity of conformal correlators from the single discontinuities of lower order correlators, in analogy

Diffractive deep inelastic scattering in an AdS/CFT inspired model: A phenomenological study

The analytical treatment of the nonperturbative QCD dynamics is one of the main open questions of the strong interactions. Currently, it is only possible to get some qualitative information about

String-gauge dual description of deep inelastic scattering at small-x

The AdS/CFT correspondence in principle gives a new approach to deep inelastic scattering as formulated by Polchinski and Strassler. Subsequently Brower, Polchinski, Strassler and Tan (BPST) computed

Black holes and conformal Regge bootstrap

Abstract Highly energetic particles traveling in the background of an asymptotically AdS black hole experience a Shapiro time delay and an angle deflection. These quantities are related to the

D scattering amplitudes and asymptotic symmetries from 2 D CFT

We reformulate the scattering amplitudes of 4D flat space gauge theory and gravity in the language of a 2D CFT on the celestial sphere. The resulting CFT structure exhibits an OPE constructed from 4D

Deep inelastic scattering with proton target in the presence of gluon condensation using holography

We study the deep inelastic scattering (DIS) of a proton-targeted lepton in the presence of gluon condensation using gauge/gravity duality. We use a modified background where the modification

Determining the gluon condensate with DIS experiments at small Bjorken parameter regime

Using gauge/gravity duality we study deep inelastic scattering (DIS) of a lepton with a proton target in presence of gluon condensation. We adopt a modified AdS5 background in which the modification

Determining the gluon condensate with DIS experiments with holographic approach

Using gauge/gravity duality we study deep inelastic scattering (DIS) of a lepton with a proton target in presence of gluon condensation. We adopt a modified AdS5 background in which the modification

The Regge limit for Green functions in conformal field theory

We define a Regge limit for off-shell Green functions in quantum field theory, and study it in the particular case of conformal field theories (CFT). Our limit differs from that defined in [32–35],

The Regge limit of AdS3 holographic correlators

Abstract We study the Regge limit of 4-point AdS3× S3 correlators in the tree-level supergravity approximation and provide various explicit checks of the relation between the eikonal phase derived

Eikonal methods in AdS/CFT: BFKL Pomeron at weak coupling

We consider correlators of N = 4 super Yang Mills of the form A similar to , where the operators O-1 and O-2 are scalar primaries. In particular, we analyze this correlator in the planar limit and in

Small-x physics in perturbative QCD

Deep Inelastic Scattering and Gauge/String Duality

We study deep inelastic scattering in gauge theories which have dual string descriptions. As a function of gN we find a transition. For small gN, the dominant operators in the OPE are the usual ones,

High Energy Scattering in the AdS/CFT Correspondence

This work explores the celebrated AdS/CFT correspondence [1] in the regime of high energy scattering in Anti–de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. In particular, we develop the eikonal approximation to high

Saturation in deep inelastic scattering from the AdS/CFT correspondence

We analyze deep inelastic scattering at small Bjorken x, using the approximate conformal invariance of QCD at high energies. Hard Pomeron exchanges are resummed eikonally, restoring unitarity at

Eikonal approximation in AdS/CFT: resumming the gravitational loop expansion

We derive an eikonal approximation to high energy interactions in Anti-de Sitter spacetime, by generalizing a position space derivation of the eikonal amplitude in flat space. We are able to resum,

The Regge limit for Green functions in conformal field theory

We define a Regge limit for off-shell Green functions in quantum field theory, and study it in the particular case of conformal field theories (CFT). Our limit differs from that defined in [32–35],

Deep inelastic scattering at strong coupling from gauge/string duality: the saturation line

For gauge theories which admit a dual string description, we analyze deep inelastic scattering at strong 't Hooft coupling and high energy, in the vicinity of the unitarity limit. We discuss the

The Pomeron and gauge/string duality

The traditional description of high-energy small-angle scattering in QCD has two components — a soft Pomeron Regge pole for the tensor glueball, and a hard BFKL Pomeron in leading order at weak
