We analyze J, H, and Ks near-infrared data for nine blue compact dwarf (BCD) galaxies, selected from a larger sample that we have already studied in the optical. We present contour maps, surface brightness and color profiles, and color maps of the sample galaxies. The morphology of the BCDs in the near-infrared (NIR) has been found to be basically the same as in the optical. The inner regions of these systems are dominated by the starburst component. At low surface brightness levels the…
New insights to the photometric structure of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies from deep near-infrared studies II. The sample of northern BCDs ,
This paper is part of a series of publications which present a systematic study of Blue Compact Dwarf (BCD) Galaxies in the near infrared (NIR). Compared to the visible light, NIR data allow a better
Photometric properties of six Local Volume dwarf galaxies from deep near-infrared observations
We have obtained deep near-infrared (NIR) J- (1.25 μm), H- (1.65 μm) and K s -band (2.15 5 μm) imaging for a sample of six dwarf galaxies (M B ≳ -1 mag) in the Local Volume (LV; D ≲ 10 Mpc). The
Palomar/Las Campanas Imaging Atlas of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies. II. Surface Photometry and the Properties of the Underlying Stellar Population
We present the results from an analysis of surface photometry of B, R, and Hα images of a total of 114 nearby galaxies (v_helio < 4000 km s^-1) drawn from the Palomar/Las Campanas Imaging Atlas of
Spectrophotometric Investigations of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies: Markarian 35
We present results from a detailed spectrophotometric analysis of the blue compact dwarf galaxy Mrk 35 (Haro 3), based on deep optical (BVRI) and near-IR (JHK) imaging, Hα narrowband observations,
We present deep near-infrared (K_s) images and surface photometry for 80 dwarf irregular galaxies (dIs) within ~5 Mpc of the Milky Way. The galaxy images were obtained at five different facilities
Infrared surface photometry of dwarf galaxies in Fornax
Despite its utility in exploring possible spatial variations in the stellar populations in galaxies, infrared surface photometry of low-luminosity dwarf elliptical (dE) galaxies is generally lacking,
Surface brightness profiles of blue compact dwarf galaxies in the GOODS-N and GOODS-S field
We investigate the structural properties of the underlying hosts of 34 blue compact dwarf (BCD) galaxies with deep near-infrared (NIR) photometry. The BCD sample is selected from the Cosmic Assembly
Unveiling the Nature of the Low Surface Brightness Stellar Host in Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies
In order to characterize the low surface brightness component in blue compact dwarf galaxies, we determine their structural parameters for eight objects by fitting a Sersic law to their B, V, and R
What will blue compact dwarf galaxies evolve into
We present and analyse the photometric properties of a nearly complete sample of blue compact dwarf (BCD) and irregular galaxies in the Virgo cluster from multi-band SDSS images. Our study intends to
Optical/Near-IR spatially resolved study of the H ii galaxy Tol 02
The main goal of this study is to characterise the stellar populations in very low metallicity galaxies. We have obtained broad U, B, R, I, J, H, K, intermediate Stromgren y and narrow H{\alpha} and

Near-infrared properties of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies: The link between solar and low metallicity
We have obtained near-infrared images and spectra of three blue compact dwarf galaxies of intermediate sub-solar metallicity Tol 35, Tol 3 and UM 462. This work is part of a larger project aimed to
Near-infrared photometry and stellar populations in dwarf elliptical and irregular galaxies
Studies of three different types of dwarf galaxies have been conducted, taking into account low surface brightness (LSB) dwarf irregular (dI) galaxies, dwarf elliptical (dE) galaxies, and blue
Optical Multi-Band Analyses of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies
We are currently analysing image data for a large sample of blue compact dwarf galaxies (BCDs), obtained in multiple optical broad- and narrow-band filters. We present preliminary results of a
Broadband observations in B, V, R, and I have been performed for a sample of 28 galaxies cataloged as blue compact dwarf galaxies (BCDs). Our deep imaging, reaching surface brightness levels of a few
Optical structure and star formation in blue compact dwarf galaxies. I. Observations and profile decomposition
We present new B and R CCD surface photometry for a sample of 4 Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies (BCDs) and 2 higher luminosity starburst galaxies. We find that the BCD surface brightness profiles (SBPs)
Multi-spectral study of a new sample of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies - II. B and R surface photometry of 22 southern objects
We present the results of surface photometry on a new sample of Blue Compact Dwarf galaxies (BCDGs), in continuation to a previous paper (Doublier et al. 1997, hereafter Paper I). The 22 galaxies
Multiband Analysis of a Sample of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies. II. Spatially Resolved and Integrated Photometry
This is the second in a series of papers devoted to the study of a sample of 28 blue compact dwarf galaxies (BCDs). In the first paper, we presented the broadband observations in B, V, R, and I. Deep
Spectrophotometric Observations of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies: Mrk 370
We present results from a detailed spectrophotometric analysis of the blue compact dwarf galaxy (BCD) Mrk 370, based on deep UBVRI broad-band and Halpha narrow-band observations, and long-slit and
Massive (?) starburst hosts of blue compact galaxies (BCGs) - Optical/near-IR observations of 4 BCGs and their companions
We present optical spectroscopy and deep optical/near-IR photometry of 4 luminous metal-poor blue compact galax- ies (BCGs) and two of their companions. With the aid of spectral evolutionary models
The Taxonomy of Blue Amorphous Galaxies. I. Hα and UBVI Data
Dwarf galaxies play an important role in our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution. We have embarked on a systematic study of 12 nearby dwarf galaxies (most of which have been classified as
