Decolorization and biodegradation of congo red dye by a novel white rot fungus Alternaria alternata CMERI F6.

Abstract

A novel white rot fungus Alternaria alternata CMERI F6 decolorized 99.99% of 600 mg/L congo red within 48 h in yeast extract-glucose medium at 25 °C, pH 5 and 150 rpm.
