We present a simple calculation leading to the quantum gravitationally-induced decoherence of a spatial superposition of a massive object in the linear coupling regime. The point of this calculation is to illustrate that the gravitationally-induced collapse could be of the same origin as any other collapse, i.e. due to the entanglement between the system (here a massive object) and its environment (in this case gravity, but it could well be the electromagnetic or any other field). We then point… Expand
Loss of coherence of matter-wave interferometer from fluctuating graviton bath
In this paper we consider non-relativistic matter-wave interferometer coupled with a quantum graviton bath $\mathord{-}$ and discuss the loss of coherence in the matter sector due to theExpand
Spacetime as a Tightly Bound Quantum Crystal
We review how reparametrization of space and time, namely the procedure where both are made to depend on yet another parameter, can be used to formulate quantum physics in a way that is naturallyExpand
Can We Detect the Quantum Nature of Weak Gravitational Fields?
A theoretical framework for the quantization of gravity has been an elusive Holy Grail since the birth of quantum theory and general relativity. While generations of scientists have attempted to findExpand

Noise and decoherence induced by gravitons
We study quantum noise and decoherence induced by gravitons. We derive a Langevin equation of geodesic deviation in the presence of gravitons. The amplitude of noise correlations tells us that largeExpand
Optical trapping of the transversal motion for an optically levitated mirror
Optomechanical systems are suitable systems to elucidate quantum phenomena at the macroscopic scale. The systems should be well isolated from the environment to avoid classical noises, which concealExpand

Evidence for gravitons from decoherence by bremsstrahlung
It is thought that gravitons are impossible to detect, even with the technological ability to construct experiments larger than Jupiter. However, in principle it is possible to detect the emission ofExpand
