OBJECTIVE This study examined the predictors of actions to initiate involuntary commitment of individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. METHODS Emergency services clinicians throughout Virginia completed a questionnaire following each face-to-face evaluation of individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
