Abstract

A data mining based approach to discover previously unknown priority dispatching rules for job shop scheduling problem is presented. This approach involves generation of a flat data file from the problem data and the output of the optimization module to discover the scheduling concept using data mining. A data mining based scheduling framework is presented and is illustrated using a simple example.
