Quantum systems undergoing non-unitary adiabatic evolution present unique characteristics with applications in the field of Quantum Computation. In this dissertation, we study the formalism of
Not-quite-free shortcuts to adiabaticity
Given the increasing use of shotcuts to adiabaticity (STA) to optimize power and efficiency of quantum heat engines, it becomes a relevant question if there are any theoretical limits to their
The time-dependent Hartree–Fock–Bogoliubov equations for Bosons
We introduce the map of dynamics of quantum Bose gases into dynamics of quasifree states, which we call the “nonlinear quasifree approximation”. We use this map to derive the time-dependent
From Geometry to Coherent Dissipative Dynamics in Quantum Mechanics
Starting from the geometric description of quantum systems, we propose a novel approach to time-independent dissipative quantum processes according to which energy is dissipated but the coherence of
Quantum decoherence
Decoherence, einselection, and the quantum origins of the classical
as quantum engineering. In the past two decades it has become increasingly clear that many (perhaps all) of the symptoms of classicality can be induced in quantum systems by their environments. Thus
Nonlocal random walk over Floquet states of a dissipative nonlinear oscillator.
The analysis of period tripling allows us to explore generic features of the dynamics of resonantly driven systems related to the multiplicity of the states, including those missing in the previously explored models of driven oscillators.
A perturbation algorithm for the pointers of Franke–Gorini–Kossakowski–Lindblad–Sudarshan equation
This paper is devoted to the study of behavior of open quantum systems consistently based on the Franke–Gorini–Kossakowski–Lindblad–Sudarshan (FGKLS) equation which covers evolution in situations
Many-particle Sudarshan-Lindblad equation: mean-field approximation, nonlinearity and dissipation in a spin system
A system of N spin-1/2 particles interacting with a thermal reservoir is used as a pedagogical example for advanced undergraduate and graduate students. We introduce and illustrate some methods,
