In this paper we present DSMAC-an energy efficient medium access control (MAC) protocol in wireless sensor networks which are widely used for long-time monitoring. Our protocol is designed for event-driven and ultra-low power sensor networks. Using dynamic sleep scheme to save energy is one of the key problems in this kind of system.
