On the production side, Chile’s endowment of copper is sizeable (both in absolute terms and in relation to the world markets), while the rest of the export basket is heavily tilted towards exports of raw or processed natural resources. On the demand side, firms and households import a significant part of their intermediate inputs (particularly fuels), machinery and equipment, and durable goods.
