  • Introduction Carolina bays are elliptical to circular shallow depressions found in abundance along the Atlantic Coastal Plain. They are a characterized by a closed elevated rim and a flat bottom. Although bays vary in size, neighboring bays are consistently similar in orientation and shape to each other.
