Genomic DNA probes were made for five members of the Anopheles punctulatus complex of mosquitoes found in Papua New Guinea. Specific DNA probes were developed for An. punctulatus, An. koliensis, and three sibling species, An. farauti No. 4, An. farauti No. 5, and An. farauti No. 6, by differentially screening total genomic DNA libraries of individual species and sibling species with homologous DNA against heterologous DNA labeled with 32P.
