DIOXYGENASE GENE OF PAHs DEGRADING A BACILLUS STRAIN ISOLATED FROM MARINE INDONESIAN ENVIRONMENT AND ITS BIOSURFACTANT PRODUCTION ABILITY

Abstract

Bioemulsifier production, the biodegradation abilities and initial dioxygenase gene of a Bacillus strain isolated from marine Indonesia was investigated. The 16S rDNA sequence revealed that the strain was Bacillus subtilis. The B. subtilis possessed nahAc and nidA genes encoding the initial dioxygenase required for pyrene degradation. The B. subtilis also… (More)
