Specific requirements and characteristics of primary storage make designing desirable deduplication schemes a sophisticated task. In this paper, we propose DIODE, a Dynamic Inline-Offline DEduplication scheme that provides salient read/write performance and space-saving simultaneously for primary storage systems.
