Programming distributed applications in the IoT-edge environment is a cumbersome challenge. Developers are expected to seamlessly handle issues in dynamic reconfiguration, routing, state management, fault tolerance, and heterogeneous device capabilities. This demo presents DDFLOW, a macroprogramming abstraction and accompanying runtime that offers appropriate distributed system tooling to properly isolate application semantics from arbitrary deployment environments. Using DDFLOW leads to…

REIP: A Reconfigurable Environmental Intelligence Platform and Software Framework for Fast Sensor Network Prototyping

REIP, a Reconfigurable Environmental Intelligence Platform for fast sensor network prototyping, is introduced, an open-source software framework, an SDK, with a flexible modular API for data collection and analysis using multiple sensing modalities, allowing for fast prototyping of heterogeneous sensor networks.

Context-dependent exogenous coordination for building large scale, dynamic fog computing applications

This work found that exogenous coordination, where there is a clear separation of concerns between computation and communication activities, is a suitable approach in supporting the complexity of many fog computing scenarios, and proposes to extend exogenouscoordination with coordination primitives that help to express context-dependent fog application logic.

Cross-Site Edge Framework for Location-Awareness Distributed Edge-Computing Applications

This work proposes a new edge-computing application framework, called ``cross-site edge framework'' (CEF), which is a messaging middleware layer on which function calls are converted into messages that are exchanged between regions behind the application code.
