We present a stringy mechanism to generate Dirac neutrino masses by $D$-instantons in an experimentally relevant mass scale without fine-tuning. Within type IIA string theory with intersecting $D6$-branes, we spell out specific conditions for the emergence of such couplings and provide a class of supersymmetric local SU(5) grand unified models, based on the ${Z}_{2}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{Z}_{2}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ orientifold compactification, where perturbatively absent Dirac…

INSTANTON INDUCED CHARGED FERMION AND NEUTRINO MASSES IN A MINIMAL STANDARD MODEL SCENARIO FROM INTERSECTING D-BRANES

String instanton Yukawa corrections from Euclidean D-branes are investigated in an effective Standard Model theory obtained from the minimal U(3)×U(2)×U(1) D-brane configuration. In the case of the

E2 Instanton Effects and Higgs Physics In Intersecting Brane Models

String instanton effects in Higgs physics are discussed through a type IIA model based on T^{6}/(Z^{2}\times Z^{'2}) orentifold compactifaction. By inclusion of rigid E2-branes, the model exhibits a

Stringy instanton effects in $ \mathcal{N} = 2 $ gauge theories

We study the non-perturbative effects induced by stringy instantons on $ \mathcal{N} = 2 $ SU(N) gauge theories in four dimensions, realized on fractional D3 branes in a $ {{{{\mathbb{C}^3}}} \left/

Neutrino Masses from Generalized Symmetry Breaking

We explore generalized global symmetries in theories of physics beyond the Standard Model. Theories of Z (cid:48) bosons generically contain ‘non-invertible’ chiral symmetries, whose presence

Neutrino Masses from the Top Down

General classes of mechanisms for generating small neutrino masses are surveyed from a top-down (superstring) perspective. In particular, string constructions have motivated various possibilities

Minimal embedding of the Standard Model into intersecting D-brane configurations with a bulk leptonic U(1)

It has been recently shown that the discrepancy between the theoretical and experimental values of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon can be fully accommodated by considering the contribution

On fermion mass hirerachies in MSSM-like quiver models with stringy corrections

AbstractUsing instanton effects, we discuss the problem of fermion mass hierarchies in an MSSM-like Type IIA orientifolded model with U(3) × Sp(1) × U(1) × U(1) gauge symmetry obtained from

F-theory and neutrinos: Kaluza-Klein dilution of flavor hierarchy

We study minimal implementations of Majorana and Dirac neutrino scenarios in F-theory GUT models. In both cases the mass scale of the neutrinos mυ ∼ Mweak2/ΛUV arises from integrating out

Stringy hidden valleys

We study gauge theories where quasi-hidden sectors are added to the MSSM for the sake of string consistency conditions which would otherwise not be satisfied. We focus on quiver gauge theories
