@article{Jafarian2014CytotoxicEO, title={Cytotoxic effects of chloroform and hydroalcoholic extracts of aerial parts of Cuscuta chinensis and Cuscuta epithymum on Hela, HT29 and MDA-MB-468 tumor cells}, author={Abbas Jafarian and Alireza Ghannadi and Bahram Mohebi}, journal={Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences}, year={2014}, volume={9}, pages={115 - 122} }
Previous studies have indicated that some species of Cuscuta possess anticancer activity on various cell lines. Due to the lack of detailed researches on the cytotoxic effects of Cuscuta chinensis and Cuscuta epithymum, the aim of the present study was to evaluate cytotoxic effects of chloroform and hydroalcoholic extracts of these plants on the human breast carcinoma cell line (MDA-MB-468), human colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line (HT29) and human uterine cervical carcinoma (Hela). Using…

Cytotoxic effects of Pinus eldarica essential oil and extracts on HeLa and MCF-7 cell lines
- Biology, MedicineResearch in pharmaceutical sciences
- 2016
Bark extracts and leaf essential oil of Pinus eldarica significantly reduced the viability of both HeLa and MCF-7 cells in a concentration dependent manner and leaf extract showed less inhibitory effects against both cell lines, suggesting that P. eldaricas might have a good potential for active anticancer agents.
