Alkaline phosphatase and 5'-nucleotidase activities were analysed cytophotometrically in cryostat sections of female rat liver after partial hepatectomy. Alkaline phosphatase activity increased rapidly after operation up to a maximum seven-fold rise at 24 h in comparison with sham operated or control rats.
