PURPOSE To report a case of cytomegalovirus acute retinal necrosis after a sub-Tenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide in an immunocompetent patient. METHODS A 77-year-old man received a sub-Tenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide for treatment of iritis unresponsive to topical steroids.
