Abstract Sixty-six specimens of the earthworm Drawida ghilarovi Gates, 1969 (Oligochaeta, Moniligastridae) from 15 localities of the southern Russian Far East were studied cytogenetically. We examined chromosome sets during mitosis and diakinesis as well as DNA content in the spermatogenous and somatic cell nuclei. The populations and morphs displayed no differences in karyotype and ploidy levels estimated in terms of both chromosome number and DNA mass index: n = 10, 2n = 20; c = 1.1 pg, 2c… Expand

Earthworm Drawida (Moniligastridae) Molecular phylogeny and diversity in Far East Russia and Northeast China
Abstract In the Sikhote-Alin and Changbai Mountains of the Amur River region, earthworms of genus Drawida inhabit the northern boundary of their natural habitat. They are represented by the epigeicExpand
Molecular differentiation of epigeic and anceic forms of Drawida ghilarovi Gates, 1969 (Moniligastridae, Clitellata) in the Russian Far East: Sequence data of two mitochondrial genes
TLDR
Molecular data for Drawida showed high genetic differentiation between epigeic and anecic using COI and 16S rRNA gene sequence data as well as the various phylogenetic relationships among the studied forms. Expand
Analysis of chromosome karyotype and genome size in echiuran Urechisunicinctus Drasche, 1880 (Polychaeta, Urechidae)
TLDR
Characteristics of karyotype and genome size in the echiuran worm Urechisunicinctus Drasche, 1880 are analyzed to provide basic cytogenetic information in echiurans, which could be utilized in taxonomic study and whole-genome sequencing in future. Expand

Karyotype analysis of five species of earthworms ( Oligochaeta : Lumbricidae )
Karyotypes of five species of earthworms from southeast edge of the West Siberian plain are described. Haploid chromosome sets of all species comprise of 18 bi-armed chromosomes. Four of theseExpand

The data on chromosome numbers (somatic and basic) characteristic to species and subspecies of earthworms (Lumbricidae) of Georgia (Caucasus region) are summarized. Four values of basic chromosomeExpand
Polyploid races, genetic structure and morphological features of earthworm Aporrectodea rosea (Savigny, 1826) (Oligochaeta, Lumbricidae) in Ukraine
TLDR
Four chromosomal races and 96 clones have been revealed among 224 specimens of the earthworm Aporrectodea rosea over the territory of Ukraine by means of karyological analysis and biochemical genetic marking. Expand
Polyploid races of earthworms (Lumbricidae, Oligochaeta) in the East European plain and Siberia
TLDR
The distribution of polyploid races of earthworms in the East European plain and Siberia was analyzed and appeared to be related to differences in the Pleistocene environmental history between the two adjacent geographic regions of Eurasia. Expand
Polyploid races, genetic structure and morphological features of the earthworm Octodrіlus transpadanus (Rosa, 1884) (Oligohaeta: Lumbricidae) in the Ukraine
Kariological investigation of the earthworm Octodrilus transpadanus (Rosa, 1884) in the Ukraine showed that this species is represented by at least three races of different ploidy with the basicExpand
Diversity of polyploid races in the family Lumbricidae
TLDR
Examination of the rate of occurrence of polyploids (genome mutation) in Lumbricidae shows that genetic diversity results in species diversity, with polyploid races of the same species being, in fact, sibling species. Expand
Karyotype analysis, nucleolus organizer regions and C-banding pattern of Eisenia foetida (oligochaeta, lumbricidae)
TLDR
The diploid number 2n=22 and haploid number n=11 found for Eisenia foetida from Palermo, Italy, confirm earlier data for this species from other localities and suggest that a single chromosome pair has active NORs which correspond with C-positive regions. Expand

TLDR
The current revision provisionally lists 77 valid earthworm taxa in seven families from Japan, with approximately 80 further names either in synonymy – including 40 new synonyms – or retained as species incertae sedis. Expand
Endopolyploidy as a morphogenetic factor of development
TLDR
Endopolyploidy is an adaptive morphogenetic factor, but its concrete role may differ in different tissues and organisms depending on cell specialization and histogenetic particularities. Expand
