This study was designed to investigate the expression and molecular signaling of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) in cervical carcinomas. Real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis confirmed enhanced expression of COX-1 RNA, and protein in squamous cell carcinomas and adenocarcinoma of the cervix.
