The taxonomic position of a novel marine, heterotrophic, aerobic, pigmented, non-motile bacterium isolated from sea water was determined. [] Key Result 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis revealed that strain KMM 6143T is a member of the genus Cyclobacterium. The results of DNA-DNA hybridization experiments supported by phenotypic and chemotaxonomic data showed that the isolate represents a novel species of the genus Cyclobacterium, for which the name Cyclobacterium amurskyense sp. nov. is proposed. The type…

Cyclobacterium caenipelagi sp. nov., isolated from a tidal flat sediment, and emended description of the genus Cyclobacterium.
TLDR
The phylogenetic and genetic distinctiveness and several differentiating phenotypic properties revealed that strain HD-17(T) was separate from other species of the genus Cyclobacterium.
Pontibacter actiniarum gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel member of the phylum 'Bacteroidetes', and proposal of Reichenbachiella gen. nov. as a replacement for the illegitimate prokaryotic generic name Reichenbachia Nedashkovskaya et al. 2003.
TLDR
Phylogenetic evidence and the results of phenotypic, genotypic and chemotaxonomic analyses strongly support the assignment of the newly isolated bacterium as a member of a novel genus and species, for which the name Pontibacter actiniarum gen. nov., sp.
Mongoliitalea lutea gen. nov., sp. nov., an alkaliphilic, halotolerant bacterium isolated from a haloalkaline lake.
TLDR
Two bacterial isolates from the surface water of a haloalkaline lake on the Mongolia Plateau were characterized and indicated that the strains formed a deep-rooted lineage distinct from the clades represented by the genera Belliella, Nitritalea, Indibacteria, Aquiflexum, Echinicola, Litoribacter, Cyclobacterium and Algoriphagus.
Echinicola pacifica gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel flexibacterium isolated from the sea urchin Strongylocentrotus intermedius.
TLDR
Results of molecular experiments supported by phenotypic and chemotaxonomic data enabled the isolates to be classified as representatives of a novel species in a new genus, for which the name Echinicola pacifica gen. nov., sp.
Cyclobacterium xiamenense sp. nov., isolated from aggregates of Chlorella autotrophica, and emended description of the genus Cyclobacterium.
TLDR
A novel Gram-stain-negative, horseshoe-shaped, non-motile bacterium, forming colonies coloured pink by carotenoid pigments, was isolated from aggregates of the alga Chlorella autotrophica collected from the coastal sea off the city of Xiamen, Fujian Province, China.
Cyclobacterium salsum sp. nov. and Cyclobacterium roseum sp. nov., isolated from a saline lake.
TLDR
Based on phenotypic, physiological, chemotaxonomic and genotypic characterization, it is proposed that the isolates represent two novel species, for which the names Cyclobacterium salsum sp.
