Abstract Daily and weekly cyclical fluctuations in ammonia (NH 4 N μg litre −1 ) and nitritenitrogen (NO 2 N μg litre −1 ) were shown to occur in marine recirculating systems containing juvenile turbot, Scophthalmus maximus (L.).
