Cutaneous lesions in disseminated candidiasis mimicking ecthyma gangrenosum.

Abstract

Cutaneous nodules are recognized as a manifestation of disseminated candidiasis. We describe skin lesions clinically identical to ecthyma gangrenosum that, on microscopic examination, were due to Candida emboli rather than Pseudomonas sepsis.
