Dynamic cardiomyoplasty has been evaluated in the treatment of severe cardiomyopathies. This report outlines the results of this procedure in 21 patients with dilated or ischemic cardiomyopathy who were in New York Heart Association class III or IV before operation. There were no operative deaths. Patients were followed up for a mean of 17.6 months.
