Smoking remains a widespread intractable behaviour and is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Effective approaches to smoking cessation include behavioural intervention and pharmacotherapy, in particular nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and sustained-release bupropion (bupropion SR).
