Curcumin (diferuloylmethane), which is obtained from turmeric, the rhizome of Curcuma longa (L.), inhibits many human cancer cells. However, the molecular mechanisms responsible for curcumin-induced endoplasmic reticulum stress in human hepatic cellular carcinoma J5 cells, are not yet clearly understood.
