Se realizaron colectas en diversas localidades de siete Estados de la Republica Mexicana en los anos 2010-2014. Se identificaron un total de 77 especies en 50 generos. De los cuales, Onychylis texanus Burke es nuevo registro para Mexico; ademas para Coahuila, Anthonomus tenuis ; Veracruz, Anthonomus fischeri , Anthonomus schwarzi , Atractomerus recessus ; Jalisco, Anthonomus maltanza, Pantomorus picturatus ; Guerrero, Embates ocellatus , Optatus palmaris , Rodobaenus mundus y para Michoacan…

TLDR
The affordable handmade trap baited with food attractants and without insecticides was highly efficient in capturing R. palmarum and therefore represents an effective tool for monitoring weevil populations.
