This work lists the species of Culicinae recorded in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The present data is based on adult collections carried out in 11 physiographic zones from September/2001 to August/ 2002, published literature and entomological collection records. Fifty-seven species are listed, including 22 new occurrences to Rio Grande do Sul.
