The migration of a Brownian fluid droplet in a parallel-plate microchannel was investigated using dissipative particle dynamics computer simulations. In a Newtonian solvent, the droplet migrated toward the channel walls due to inertial effects at the studied flow conditions, in agreement with theoretical predictions and recent simulations. However, the droplet focused onto the channel centerline when polymer chains were added to the solvent. Focusing was typically enhanced for longer polymers…

Transport Mechanisms Underlying Ionic Conductivity in Nanoparticle-Based Single-Ion Electrolytes.
TLDR
The results suggest that for the experimentally studied electrolyte systems, the dominant pathway for cation transport is along the surface of nanoparticles, in the vicinity of nanoparticle-tethered anions, and means to enhance ionic conductivities in single-ion conducting electrolytes based on nanoparticle salts are suggested.

Inertial and viscoelastic forces on rigid colloids in microfluidic channels.
TLDR
The authors' simulations reveal a significantly stronger fluctuation of the lateral colloid position than expected from thermal motion alone, which originates from the complex interplay between the colloid and polymer chains.
Inertio-capillary cross-streamline drift of droplets in Poiseuille flow using dissipative particle dynamics simulations.
TLDR
The accuracy of the DPD method is assessed and it is concluded that with current computer resources and methods DPD is not readily able to predict cross-stream-line drift for small particle Reynolds number, or for droplets that are less than one tenth the gap size, owing to excessive noise and inadequate numbers of DPD particles per droplet.
Inertial migration of deformable droplets in a microchannel
The microfluidic inertial effect is an effective way of focusing and sorting droplets suspended in a carrier fluid in microchannels. To understand the flow dynamics of microscale droplet migration,
Thermally modulated cross-stream migration of a surfactant-laden deformable drop in a Poiseuille flow
