We study an asymmetric dark matter model with self-interacting dark matter consisting of a Dirac fermion χ coupled to a scalar or vector mediator, such that the reaction χ + χ → χ + χ is well described by perturbation theory. We compute the scattering cross section σ , the transfer cross section σ T , and the viscosity cross section σ V for this reaction. As one part of our study, we give analytic and numerical comparisons of results obtained with the inclusion of both t -channel and u -channel…

Chern-Simons Gravity and Neutrino Self-Interactions

Dynamical Chern-Simons gravity (dCS) is a four-dimensional parity-violating extension of general relativity. Current models predict the effect of this extension to be negligible due to large decay

Cosmological simulations with rare and frequent dark matter self-interactions

Dark matter (DM) with self-interactions is a promising solution for the small-scale problems of the standard cosmological model. Here we perform the first cosmological simulation of frequent DM

Unequal-mass mergers of dark matter haloes with rare and frequent self-interactions

Dark matter self-interactions have been proposed to solve problems on small length scales within the standard cold dark matter cosmology. Here we investigate the effects of dark matter

The cosmological evolution of self-interacting dark matter

We study the evolution of cosmological perturbations in dark-matter models with elastic and velocity-independent self interactions. Such interactions are imprinted in the matter-power spectrum as

The xishacorene natural products are structurally unique apolar diterpenoids that feature a bicyclo[3.3.1] framework. These secondary metabolites likely arise from the well-studied, structurally

A Stringent Upper Limit on Dark Matter Self-Interaction Cross Section from Cluster Strong Lensing

We analyze strongly lensed images in 8 galaxy clusters to measure their dark matter density profiles in the radial region between 10 kpc and 100 kpc, and use this to constrain the self-interaction

Constraints on the properties of warm dark matter using the satellite galaxies of the Milky Way

The satellite galaxies of the Milky Way (MW) are effective probes of the underlying dark matter (DM) substructure, which is sensitive to the nature of the DM particle. In particular, a class of DM

Universal structure of dark matter haloes over a mass range of 20 orders of magnitude.

A cosmological simulation of the formation of present-day haloes over the full range of observed halo masses when dark matter is assumed to be in the form of weakly interacting massive particles of mass approximately 100 gigaelectronvolts is reported.

Velocity-dependent self-interacting dark matter from groups and clusters of galaxies

We probe the self-interactions of dark matter with relaxed galaxy groups and clusters using observational data from strong and weak lensing and stellar kinematics. Our analysis uses the Jeans
