We present a catalogue of homogeneous measures of the linewidth parameter, v(e) sin i, for 373 O-type stars and early B supergiants (including the separate components of 25 binary and three triple systems), produced by cross-correlating high-resolution, short-wavelength IUE spectra against a 'template' spectrum of tau Sco. We also tabulate terminal velocities. There are no O supergiants in our sample with v(e) sin i < 65 km s(-1), and only one supergiant earlier than B5 has v(e) sin i < 50 km s…

- Physics
- 2015
Aims. Having established the binary status of nineteen O-type stars located in four Cygnus OB associations, we now determine their fundamental parameters to constrain their properties and their…

- Physics
- 2001
A new high-quality set of orbital parameters for the O-type spectroscopic binary HD 93205 has been obtained combiningand coude CCD observations. The radial velocity orbits derived from the He ii…
Fourier method of determining the rotational velocities in OB stars
- Physics
- 2007
Aims. We present a comprehensive study that applies the Fourier transform to a sample of O and early B-type stars (either dwarfs, giants, or supergiants) to determine their projected rotational…
Binary and Multiple O-Type Stars in the Cassiopeia OB6 Association
- Physics, Geology
- 2005
We present the results of time-resolved spectroscopy of 13 O-type stars in the Cas OB6 stellar association. We conducted a survey for radial velocity variability in search of binary systems, which…
Quantitative H and K band spectroscopy of Galactic OB-stars at medium resolution
- Physics
- 2005
In this paper we have analyzed 25 Galactic O and early B-stars by means of H and K band spectroscopy, with the primary goal to investigate to what extent a lone near-IR spectroscopy is able to…

Using an extended set of multi-epoch high-resolution high signal-to-noise ratio optical spectra, we readdress the multiplicity properties of the O-type stars in IC 2944 and in the Cen OB2…
Chemical composition of B-type supergiants in the OB 8, OB 10, OB 48, OB 78 associations of M 31
- Physics

Context. As the favoured progenitors of long-duration gamma-ray bursts, massive stars may represent our best signposts of individual objects in the early Universe, but special conditions seem…
The Projected Rotational Velocity Distribution of a Sample of OB stars from a Calibration Based on Synthetic He I Lines
