Milk consumption was linked to acne on and off for over a century in both the literature and common practice until the advent of tetracycline. During the past decade, milk, whey protein, and especially skim milk have again been linked to acne in a number of epidemiological studies and case reports. This association has been largely attributed to hormone content as well as to insulin increase, IGF-1 and the cascade of responses involving Fox01 and mTORC1 activation. Evidence has accumulated…
