Affirmative globalization studies stress positive aspects of global capitalism, while critical globalization studies use no- tions such as "Empire" and "new imperialism" to analyze the global economy's negativity. Critical globalization studies, how- ever, frequently lack a precise theoretical notion of imperialism.
