OBJECTIVE Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is an acute viral hemorrhagic fever with a high mortality rate. Despite increasing knowledge about viral hemorrhagic fevers, the pathogenesis of CCHF and causes of death have not been well described.
